A sacred building capable of combining artistic elements of various kinds. At this fourteenth-century church, a medieval portal is flanked by a suggestive "salvaged" material from Roman times.
Built in the 14th century, the church of S. Apollinare highlights important architectural elements worthy of interest as well as a conspicuous presence of works of art and a curious combination of styles. By carefully observing the walls and pilasters you can discover, for example, traces of material dating back to the Roman period and removed from the buildings of the time. Very curious, in this sense, is the presence of an epigraph dating back to 23 BC that constitutes one of the oldest finds of this kind ever found in Trentino. In the façade stands out the interesting portal in late Romanesque style. Inside, where recent restorations have brought to light the remains of a frescoed cycle, there are three 18th-century marble altars and a wooden crucifix from the same period.
STRENGTH
