LE GALLERIE - THE GALLERIES. TRENTINO HISTORICAL MUSEUM FOUNDATION
Opening hours: 9.00-18.00. Closed on Mondays
LE GALLERIE are two former road tunnels used up to October 2007 for traffic on the Trento bypass. They cover a surface area ofmore than 6,000 square metres and are 300 metres long.
One tunnel is painted white and the other black. Black and white are the colours used for many photographs and films, representing historic sources and documents.
LE GALLERIE are mainly used as a place dedicated to recounting and portraying the past, history and memories of Trentino, but not limited to this. We often like to extend our angle of vision to include other stories and affairs, from both near and far, stories on a large or a small scale.
LE GALLERIE are not a traditional museum, perhaps not even a museum.
They are more a workshop and a participatory place; a cultural space where different languages interact in order to promote an awareness of history, excite the curiosity and raise questions.
LE GALLERIE have been supervised and managed by the Fondazione Museo Storico del Trentino since they were destined for "reuse".
Tuesday – Sunday: 9am – 6pm / closed on Monday
