Group visits

Visits to the museum for school groups are usually scheduled on Wednesday mornings (10.00 – 12.00) while visits for all other groups must be scheduled in time so as to ensure the presence of a guide.

School groups can take advantage of the transfer by shuttle, to be agreed in advance and free of charge, starting from the Trento Sector 1 bus station depending on the available time. Otherwise there is the possibility of taking the urban bus no. 15 that stops right in front of the museum or the urban bus no. 4 with the "Roncafort Nord" terminus, then continuing on foot taking the connection with the cycle path (approx. 5 min.).

TtrAM – Trentino Trasporti Archivio e Museo contains two souls.

The first, the historical archive, which collects the documentation of the Trento-Malé and Atesina Railways, from their foundation to their transformation into the new Company.

The second, an exhibition, accompanied by numerous materials – objects, images and archival documents – also by private collectors, of the events related to the history of the two companies and the companies that, with them, have characterized the history of local transport in Trentino.

Not only the Trento-Malé and Atesina Railway but also the Mori-Arco-Riva Railway, the Alta Anaunia Electric Railway and the Trento Sardagna Cable Car.

To complete the historical itinerary, the installation continues, outdoors, with the exhibition, of a technical and educational nature, of structures and vehicles related to transport by iron and rubber.

"If numerous projects have been carried out, other challenges will be faced in the near future; one above all, the doubling and extension of the Trento-Malé railway from Lavis to Mattarello, as an infrastructure at the service of Trento's urban transport. Even in this perspective, continuously looking to the future, knowledge of the history of transport in Trentino remains important, for which it was decided to provide careful testimony through the creation of TtrAM. The hope of the Companies is that the exhibition and the events that will accompany it become a teaching and awareness-raising tool for a more responsible use of public transport ".
