The legend of Ferrari began with one man, Giulio Ferrari, and his dream of creating a wine capable of competing with the finest French champagnes right here in Trentino

He was a pioneer in his field: the first to realise the extraordinary potential of his homeland, and the first to spread Chardonnay widely throughout Italy. He started by producing a few highly select bottles, with an obsessive focus on quality. As he had no children, he was always searching for a successor to whom he could entrust his dream. From the many candidates he chose Bruno Lunelli, the owner of a wine shop in Trento, who succeeded in increasing production without ever compromising on quality. Lunelli then passed his passion on to his sons and, under the leadership of Franco, Gino and Mauro, Ferrari became the market leader in Italy and the nation’s sparkling wine par excellence, Trentodoc classic method.
