ALPINE BOTANICAL GARDEN
Viote Alpine Botanical Garden is a unique environment that includes lakes, peat bogs, wild flower meadows and educational paths, where you can relax and learn the secrets of mountain farming and herbal medicine, but also get to know the forest and water inhabitants, observe the activities of bees in the flight chamber and reflect on our responsibilities towards nature.
The Garden was founded in 1938 and it occupies an area of 10 hectares that contains two thousand alpine plant species, many of them at risk of extinction, from all over the world. The Botanical Garden is one of the oldest and largest gardens in the Alps and it is part of the extensive museum network of the MUSE - Science Museum of Trento.
Alpine Botanical Garden proposes several summer and winter activities available for schools and groups by reservation, and it offers a rich summer programme to the public that includes visits, workshops and themed activities for all age groups.
