Along with winter, the time has come for Trento to dress up for the festivities, or rather the Holidays! 'Trento City of Christmas' is back and offers, along with the typical Christmas markets, many initiatives spread throughout the city. Whether you want to accompany your children to the many workshops of the Enchanted Village or ride the amazing Ferris wheel, in Piazza Dante you won't be left empty-mouthed, thanks to the stands of Christmas delicacies. Piazza S. Maria Maggiore will welcome you with the Nativity scene, in the Albere district the skating rink will provide smiles and fun.

A rich cultural offer, all to be experienced and discovered at Trento, city of Christmas, will accompany us throughout the period. Marvel at the Lhuman initiative, with its processions of light and music and the participatory artwork painted by a hundred hand. With cultural proposals, take a plunge into Trento's past by wearing the Vantini chapel visor or admiring old photos of daily life in the exhibitions set up by the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino in the courtyard of Palazzo Thun and in the piazza in Cognola; enjoy a show in the city's theatres (or from the balconies in via Belenzani!).

Visit the places of Christmas! Among the squares and streets, the scent is that of wood, of mountains, of cinnamon and mulled wine, of the large Christmas fir tree in Piazza Duomo festively decorated, and the lights from the centre to Monte Bondone that immerse us in a magical atmosphere; you can then hop on the little train, young and old alike. A tradition that, from this year, combines the white of Christmas with the green of sustainability: both the lights that illuminate your walks, and the little train, will have an ecological footprint, reducing their consumption.

The Trento Christmas Market

Sweet and exciting. Like a childhood memory. Like a ritual that is repeated every year. Here is the magic, here is the interweaving of sensations that pervades the streets and the souls of those who walk them. Christmas is everyone's holiday, the celebration of hope and the desire to be together. And Trento, as we know, has always been its 'capital'. Now in its 28th edition, the traditional Christmas Market is ready to welcome its visitors to properly celebrate the most beloved occasion.

Christmas lights in Trento

The protagonist of Christmas is the light that bathes the city in a warm atmosphere: illuminations suspended in the streets, strictly energy-saving, luminous decorations projected by a photomapping system on the facades of the buildings and the cathedral, the glow of the majestic Christmas tree and other luminous surprises...

Christmas train

In Piazza Dante, not far from the Enchanted Village, and in front of the Church of San Pietro, it will be possible to board the Christmas train, which will take adults and children alike through the streets of the festively lit historic centre! In the name of sustainability and accessibility, the train will be powered by electricity and equipped with a platform for easy access.

Wonder, magic and fairy tales in Piazza Dante! Christmas-themed workshops in the Village of Father Christmas and the Elves, sweet and savoury treats at the kiosk in the square, the thrill of the little train and the toboggan run... Don't miss the Ferris wheel, to enjoy a unique viewpoint over the square and the city!

Treasure hunt and Christmas on skates

At Le Albere, the innovative district designed by Renzo Piano, you can experience the thrill of skating on a 200-square-metre rink and meet Trento's curling and skating champions. And with the treasure hunt by "hiSTORIC" you will experience an unusual adventure through the streets of Trento City of Christmas: quickly solve the riddles and win the prizes up for grabs!
